Founding Partner
Markos Vellapally
A corporate lawyer with over 50 years of experience, Markos is an expert in mergers and acquisitions, setting up Indian entities for overseas clients, company law, taxation, and real estate matters. He obtained his LL.B. degree from the University of Delhi and was a Partner for over 20 years at two Kerala-based law firms before establishing Markos & Co. in Bangalore in 1993. Markos now serves the Firm in an advisory capacity and is also a member of the Boards of some of the Firm’s clients.

Thomas Vellapally
Thomas focuses on the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice at Markos & Co. A law graduate from Bangalore University, he has over 33 years of experience representing clients before the Supreme Court of India, the High Courts of Kerala and Karnataka, the Subordinate and Commercial Courts, and various Tribunals. His expertise extends to commercial, corporate, indirect tax disputes and arbitration.
Uttara Vellapally
A law graduate from the National Law School of India University, Uttara has over 25 years of experience advising clients on corporate law and real estate matters. Her practice focuses on providing end-to-end legal support for commercial leasing and sale transactions, covering all aspects, including deal structuring, documentation, negotiation, closing, and related compliances.
Mithun Markos
Mithun is a law graduate from Symbiosis Law College, Pune, with over 25 years of legal experience, including over seven years of litigation practice before the Kerala High Court. His practice at Markos & Co. focuses primarily on commercial, tax and civil litigation, as well as real estate transactions and advisory, including sales and leases, property due diligence, stamping and registration.
Kiran Kuriyan
An LL.B. graduate from the Campus Law Centre, Delhi Law Faculty, Kiran has over 21 years of experience in corporate, foreign exchange management, and commercial law advisory. His practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising Indian and foreign clients on establishing Indian entities. He also assists clients with joint ventures, asset purchase, business transfer, and acquisition transactions.

Puja Priyadarshini Thakur
A law graduate from ILS Law College, Pune, Puja has over 18 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation, with additional expertise in Family Law, including divorce and custody matters. She has been with Markos & Co. since 2018.
Miriam Jacob
Miriam graduated from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, and has over 11 years of experience. She advises clients on corporate and commercial law matters, as well as employment and labour law compliance. She has been with Markos & Co. since 2018.

Vimi has been an integral part of Markos & Co. since 2002. She oversees the firm’s finance, accounts, human resources, and office administration functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the Firm.
